OUR MISSION
To reach women 50+ and promote connection and expression through sharing stories at gatherings and online. We recognize that adults who are socially connected are healthier and live longer than their isolated peers. Connection deflects despair, and connected adults give to society. OUR STORY
StorySistas began in April 2016 serving women 50+, a group whose voice may not have been heard in the past, or even when it was, it was not as loud and clear as it could be. We are thrilled that today young women are more equal to men in the eyes of society, though we still have further to go.
StorySistas connect people of all ages, religion, ethnicity, political, and sexual orientation through stories, with an emphasis on women 50+.
People spend so much time staring at a screen today, sharing stories brings us together face to face—we see each other, we hear one another, we connect, and we feel less alone.
OUR WORK
East Austin Stories
EAST AUSTIN STORIES is a storytelling workshop that promotes community connection through personal stories, culminating with a series of videos and a documentary. EAST AUSTIN STORIES is a collaboration with Austin Parks & Rec, and Motion Media Arts.

Modelling 50+, second-year journalism students partner women 50+, each learns one thing from the other as they explore and work on a story and visuals. An intergenerational exploration through stories, this project is a collaboration with an Austin university.
